Ryan Church and the Mets avoided an arbitration hearing, agreeing Thursday to a $2 million one-year contract, as reported by the Associated Press.

Church is slated to be the team's regular right fielder this season after he was acquired from the Nationals with Brian Schneider for Lastings Milledge.
