 More Reds NewsIn the hunt for pitching the entire offseason, the Reds appear close to making another significant addition to their staff. A Major League source confirmed to MLB.com that free agent left-hander Jeremy Affeldt and Cincinnati are nearing a deal. The signing is still pending upon the final agreement on a dollar figure and a physical that has already been scheduled for early next week. Foxsports.com first reported the story and said Affeldt's deal could be for one year at $3 million, plus incentives. "There's nothing to announce," Reds' General Manager Wayne Krivsky said.
