Chris Duffy, the Pirates' opening-day center fielder last season, is still healing from shoulder surgery and might miss part of spring training.

With Nyjer Morgan and Nate McLouth expected to compete for the starting job during camp, Duffy was projected to start the season at Triple-A Indianapolis even if he wasn't recuperating.
