There is no new deal yet for Manager Terry Francona. The sides have not begun any serious negotiations on a contract extension. It appears there's a general idea of where each side wants to be, and a deal should take little time to consummate once the sides actually sit down and chat. Francona is expected to be north of $3 million per year when the deal is finally done. Francona's current contract expires at the end of the 2008 season.
