Seven months too late, the Jazz finished off the Mavericks. In its first meeting with Dallas since squandering a 17-point lead and losing Game 5 of a NBA first-round playoff series last spring, Utah roared past the stunned-looking Mavericks in the final minutes Monday night at the Delta Center. The Jazz outscored Dallas 18-1 down the stretch, wiped out an eight-point deficit and rolled to a 107-98 victory that was their fourth in a row. Karl Malone scored nine of his game-high 30 points in the final 4 1/2 minutes and Donyell Marshall added seven in the last 2:40. |
