The Tigers agreed to a one-year contract with lefthander Tim Byrdak on Wednesday, avoiding salary arbitration.

Byrdak will make $712,500 for the upcoming season. The club also announced that it did not tender righthander Chad Durbin, making him a free agent.

The 34-year-old Byrdak made 39 relief appearances for the Tigers last season, going 3-0 with a 3.20 ERA and one save.
