The Tigers pursued right-hander Octavio Dotel at the trade deadline, and he remains one of the club's favorite relievers on the free agent market.

Dotel has not made more than 33 appearances in a season since 2004.

He finished this year with four scoreless appearances after missing six weeks with a shoulder strain.
