Ex-Yankees 'Eiland, Meacham Join Girardi's Staff

The Journal News - New Yankees' Manager Joe Girardi announced his coaching staff this morning, which includes three members from the 2007 staff.

The holdovers are hitting coach Kevin Long, first base coach Tony Pena, and Rob Thomson, the major-league field coordinator last year who'll be bench coach this season.

"I'm very comfortable with the staff," Girardi said in a conference call. "They are very well prepared and know the game."

Girardi appointed Dave Eiland as pitching coach and named Bobby Meacham the third-base coach. Both are former Yankees. Mike Harkey is the new bullpen coach. [READ]
