Report: Mets Talks With Torrealba Collapse

Yahoo.com - Yorvit Torrealba may not be joining the Mets after all.

Newsday reported Saturday that talks between the free agent catcher and the Mets have collapsed.

According to the report, the sides had already agreed on a three-year contract worth $14.4 million, pending Torrealba passing a physical. But the newspaper reported Saturday that the deal has fallen apart.

"The Mets did not reach an agreement with Yorvit, and there are no current negotiations," Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz told the paper [READ]
