| 14th November, 2007 - 12:36 pm | Miami Herald - If the Marlins do trade third baseman Miguel Cabrera, the team that gets him might get a lighter, quicker version.
Cabrera, who has been criticized for being slow and overweight, said he wants to get into shape this winter.
Cabrera, talking for the first time since his name has been bantered about in trade rumors, told LasMayores.com (the Spanish version of MLB.com) he would like to stay with the Marlins but that he understands why he might be traded.
"This winter, I'm really going to work on my physical condition in order to be in the best shape possible for spring training," Cabrera told LasMayores.com. "I've been at it for four weeks now at a gym that specializes in professional athletes, and I'll be there until the spring."
"I'll keep at it in order to get to spring training in the best shape possible, to have the best season possible for the team I end up on," he said. [READ] |
