Tigers' President/General Manager Dave Dombrowski said Tuesday that free agent Kenny Rogers, "looks like he's leaning toward coming back to play." Based on earlier comments by both sides, the development suggests that the left-hander would return to Detroit for the 2008 season.
"He told us before, directly, that if he made that decision, he wanted to be with us," Dombrowski said. "His representative (Scott Boras) has been very busy with other things going on, but we're interested in him. We continue to be interested."
However, there were indications Tuesday night that Boras wants to gauge the interest of other clubs before Rogers agrees to a deal.
