The words and deeds of Scott Boras over the past week had other agents saying they wouldn?t mind if the owners engaged in collusion against Alex Rodriguez, which is a pretty severe reaction from people whose clients were victims of the owners? collusion in the mid-1980s.
By opting out of the last three years and $91 million of his 10-year, $252 million contract, Rodriguez, as Boras has pointed out, was exercising the right granted him in the contract that Boras negotiated with the Texas Rangers in December 2000, and the one the Yankees acquired four years ago.
