Asked about a possible return of Rodriguez, who opted out of the final three years of his 10-year, $252-million contract Sunday night, Jeter said: "One thing I've learned getting to know the Steinbrenners, especially Hank and Hal, is that they are men of their word. They've made a statement. I don't know exactly what's going on, or what's going on in the front office, but it looks like it's not going to happen."
