To make room for Michael Tucker on the active roster, right-handed starter Cory Lidle was placed on the disabled list retroactive to Thursday. Lidle came out of his last start after four innings because of a pain in his left side after swinging the bat. It turned out to be a strained left oblique. He said taking time to heal is the smart move at this point. "It's good, because anyone who is competitive wants to get back out there the first time you feel good," Lidle said. "You end up turning up the notch a little too far and reinjuring it. This way I won't have to rush it along."
