Injury-plagued Twins' catcher Joe Mauer may undergo hernia-related surgery soon. Recovery is expected to take a month to six weeks.

Mauer, 24, underwent hernia surgery while playing in the minor leagues. He also has had knee surgery and quadriceps and hamstring injuries that have kept him out of the lineup.
