The Yankees could commit to Melky Cabrera in center field, or move him for help elsewhere and sign a player from the free-agent market (Torii Hunter, Andruw Jones, Aaron Rowand, Mike Cameron).

The same goes for Johnny Damon.

The Yankees looked into moving him in July, and trading Damon would allow them to DH Giambi with Hideki Matsui, Cabrera and Bobby Abreu in the outfield.
