Alex Rodriguez is preparing for an addition to his family while he gets ready to face the Indians in the playoffs.

The Yankees third baseman and his wife, Cynthia, are expecting their second child in the spring, according to People magazine.

"Cynthia and I are overjoyed to announce this addition to our family," Alex Rodriguez told the magazine. "We realize what a special gift children are, and feel very blessed to welcome our second child."

The couple already has a daughter, Natasha, 2.
