The Padres on Monday acquired outfielder Jason Lane from the Astros in exchange for a player to be named later and cash considerations.

The move comes several hours after San Diego - which holds a one-half game lead in the NL wild card standings - announced that outfielder Milton Bradley would miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his right knee.
