Assistant general manager Jon Daniels wouldn't comment Monday on anything regarding Alfonso Soriano and waivers, but he did say there was no trade pending, adding, "We expect him to be a member of the club moving forward this season and next." Minnesota claimed Soriano on special revocable waivers last week, and the Rangers had until Monday afternoon to decide whether to trade him, allow the Twins to pick up his contract or to revoke waivers and retain Soriano's rights. Soriano will be eligible for arbitration after the season and could become a free agent after the 2006 season. He signed a one-year, $7.5 million deal last off-season to avoid arbitration.
