Kevin Youkilis? bruised right wrist kept him out of last night?s game against the New York Yankees, and he doesn?t expect to be ready to play tonight in Toronto.

?Youk?s really sore on the inside part of his wrist, which I think is understandable,? said manager Terry Francona before the game. ?He?ll receive his treatment and we?ll see where that progresses. I think everyone acknowledges that he?s a pretty tough kid. Hopefully this will maybe (sideline him) just (last night) - that would be nice.?

However, Youkilis did not share Francona?s hope that he?d be able to play as early as tonight.

?If my wrist is still bruised and puffy, and I can?t move my thumb?? said Youkilis in disbelief after the 4-3 loss. ?Maybe if there was a miracle overnight. I would love it.?
