Chien-Ming Wang gave all indications yesterday that his lower back is not an issue, and the right-hander is scheduled to start Sunday in Kansas City.

Wang left Tuesday's start against Seattle in the eighth inning after struggling to get loose, but after applying a heating pad to his back yesterday he said he felt better.

"I feel good, no problem," Wang said before the Yankees' 10-2 victory over the Mariners.

Today's off day will allow Wang to pitch on a full four days' rest Sunday, letting Joe Torre skip over Roger Clemens' spot in the rotation. Torre had no news yesterday on Clemens, who remained in Houston after receiving a cortisone shot in his right elbow.
