The official scorer who charged Detroit's Placido Polanco with an error in the first inning Friday of the Tigers', 11-inning victory over the Yankees has changed the call, giving new life to Polanco's record errorless streak for a second baseman, which stood at 148 games entering Saturday night.
Several Detroit-area media outlets reported Saturday that official scorer Ron Kleinfelter changed the call after meeting with the umpire crew, charging the error to Tigers first baseman Marcus Thames.
