New York Yankees right-hander Jaret Wright was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list to start Monday night's game at Tampa Bay. To make room for Wright, reliever Wayne Franklin was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. Wright had been on the DL since April 24, a day after leaving his start against Texas because of pain in his shoulder. It was the eighth time he was been on the disabled list in his nine-year career, and the sixth time because of a shoulder problem. "He's in the rotation unless we see something we don't expect to see," New York manager Joe Torre said. Wright went 15-8 in 32 starts for Atlanta last year and signed with the Yankees as a free agent during the offseason. In four starts for New York earlier this season, he went 2-2 with a 9.15 ERA. |
