The Athletics on Saturday lost the services of Joe Kennedy, who was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks.

It was the third waiver claim in two days by Arizona, which grabbed Jeff Cirillo from the Twins and Byung-Hyun Kim from the Marlins.

The 28-year-old Kennedy made 27 appearances with Oakland this season, including 16 starts, and went 3-9 with a 4.37 ERA. Acquired from Colorado at the All-Star break in 2005, the veteran owns a career record of 42-61 with seven complete games, two shutouts, two saves and a 4.75 ERA in 210 career games with the Devil Rays, Rockies and Athletics.
