It by no means, however, changed the attitude Guillen has toward his own contract situation. Guillen has one more year on his current deal, with a 2009 extension. ''I don't think about the option, no option,'' Guillen said of his deal. ''I've got one more year, and I'll see where I am. ''I will feel embarrassed to go to [chairman] Jerry [Reinsdorf] and [general manager Ken Williams] and talk about a contract the way we're playing. I'm not that type of person. I'm happy with the contract I have, but I have one more year and, hopefully, after I'm done with my year, we can talk about it and I can stay here a little longer.'' |
