Hearing the news on Monday that Indians manager Eric Wedge received a three-year contract extension, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was motivated enough to offer the skipper his congratulations.

It by no means, however, changed the attitude Guillen has toward his own contract situation.

Guillen has one more year on his current deal, with a 2009 extension.

''I don't think about the option, no option,'' Guillen said of his deal. ''I've got one more year, and I'll see where I am.

''I will feel embarrassed to go to [chairman] Jerry [Reinsdorf] and [general manager Ken Williams] and talk about a contract the way we're playing. I'm not that type of person. I'm happy with the contract I have, but I have one more year and, hopefully, after I'm done with my year, we can talk about it and I can stay here a little longer.''
