Late in the evening, Torre said Damon will start in center field today against the Rockies at spacious Coors Field when the Yankees try to halt a two-game losing streak. "If he has a physical problem [today] we will have to go get him," Torre said of Damon, who grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the top of the eighth in last night's 6-1 loss. Damon, who is leaving the DL issue up to Yankee officials, took batting practice on the field and informed Torre he was feeling better. |
