White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski was handed a one-game suspension and fined an undisclosed amount on Saturday.

The penalties stem from his ejection during Thursday's loss to the Yankees.

Pierzynski was tossed by plate umpire Bob Davidson in the eighth inning after striking out against Mariano Rivera. The White Sox had the tying run on base but Pierzynski's out ended the inning before the Yankees piled on insurance runs in the top of the ninth.
