Red Sox DH David Ortiz was not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Rangers because of sore hamstrings.

"I wanted to give him today and let the medical people give him a little care," manager Terry Francona said. "Hopefully he'll bounce back and feel good tomorrow. I don't want him to limp for the next couple of weeks because we got greedy trying to get another game here." Francona also said Ortiz has had bouts of dehydration in the past week. Boston pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka left Friday's game after five innings because of nausea and dehydration.
