The Yankees and Red Sox would play exhibition games in China and open the regular season in Japan next year if the MLB gets their way. According to people close to the talks between MLB, the Red Sox and Yankees, there is still ground to cover before a deal is struck.

If the Yankees don't get on board, the Dodgers are willing to fill the spot in China, although its unclear if the Dodgers-Red Sox games would be strictly exhibitions.
