he Phillies got the win they were so desperately in need of Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 39,353 at Great American Ball Park behind the stellar pitching of lefty Cole Hamels, whose complete-game, 15-strikeout effort paved the way to a 4-1 victory.

It was unlikely manager Charlie Manuel talked about turning triple plays in his pregame meeting with the team, but the Phils got exactly that, to help Hamels out of a fifth-inning jam.

With runners on first and second, Reds catcher David Ross swung on Hamels' first offering, and grounded it directly to third baseman Abraham Nunez, who started the 5-4-3 around-the-horn triple play.
