"How's the season going so far?" Letterman asked. "Oh, it's slow right now," Howard said of the team's 1-6 start. "But, you know, we're going to get it right." Howard is one of the players struggling for the Phillies -- he's currently hitting .222 -- though he hit his first homer of the season in Monday's 11-5 loss to the Mets. He conceded that slow starts are common. "My mom's always said I've never done good in April," he said. |
