Carlos Zambrano isn't a very popular figure with the Milwaukee Brewers said about them after the Cubs' victory Saturday. ''He's full of [it] anyway,'' Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks said Sunday. ''You can't believe a word that man says. But that [stuff] happens. He pitched good, but we'll see what happens next time.'' While explaining the difference between his poor outing last Monday in Cincinnati and his good one Saturday, Zambrano said the key was the quality of the lineups he was facing. ''In Cincinnati, they're better hitters than in Milwaukee,'' he said. ''I don't say that the Milwaukee Brewers are nothing, but the offense of the Cincinnati Reds is better.'' ''Hopefully, he didn't mean it exactly how he said it because it didn't sound very good,'' said Brewers left fielder Geoff Jenkins, who, like Weeks, homered and struck out against Zambrano. ''The guy's a good pitcher, no doubt. But you need to watch what you say about other teams because you definitely don't earn respect by doing that.'' |
