Kevin Millar climbed atop his clubhouse chair on Thursday and shouted, to anyone listening, ''I'm going to Minnesota. For Joe Mays, J.C. Romero. With Bill Mueller."
Looking at a bemused David Ortiz, Millar responded, ''What are you laughing at?"
Millar, once off his chair, was asked whether he's bothered by his name surfacing in a possible deal with the Twins.
''No, that means you're somewhat of a good player because somebody's asking for you for somebody else," said Millar, who has denied requesting a trade earlier this month, as reported by Peter Gammons on ESPN. ''They either trade you because you're terrible or you can help a team out."
But, Millar doesn't believe he's going to the Twins.
''Most of the time I've been around this game, if you've heard about a trade, it never happens," said Millar. ''By the time the media gets it or ESPN gets it, they never happen. Trades that happen, you show up one day and boom."
