Luis Castillo all but signed with the Mets as a free agent three seasons ago before the Marlins improved their offer.

Mets General Manager Omar Minaya loves Castillo and should be in the market for a second baseman next winter.

"Honestly, I'm focused on having a good year and doing everything I can to forget I'm a free agent and where I'm going," Castillo said.
