Duaner Sanchez began apologizing to his Mets teammates on Sunday for his behavior, approaching Tom Glavine in the morning to say he was sorry. Sanchez had been evicted from camp for two days because he had been late multiple times. On Saturday morning, the reliever had a meeting with manager Willie Randolph and GM Omar Minaya, and he said he was sorry to the front office and coaches. Sanchez said he would be apologizing to his teammates individually. One Met had said players were irritated with Sanchez because they didn't think he was working as hard as he should have been. "I talked to him for a couple minutes [yesterday] morning, and he apologized, which is fine," Glavine said. "It's more of an issue of as a teammate, you want to know that he's doing everything he can to get back as quick as he can, because we need him, and we're a better team with him. "So if that's May 1 or April 1, if that's what it ends up being and he's worked as hard as he can and that's as soon as he can come back, great. That's the bottom line."
