The New York Mets helped their pitching staff on Tuesday.

Quiet on the free-agent front for much of the offseason, the Mets signed lefthanded reliever Scott Schoeneweis and righthander Jorge Sosa.

Schoeneweis received a three-year contract while Sosa agreed to a one-year deal.
