The Yomiuri Giants announced Friday they had placed outfielder Gabe Kapler on waivers. Kapler, who was hitting .153 and had spent the last month on the team's inactive list, is expected to sign with the Red Sox when he clears waivers. Kapler was on Boston's World Series team last season.
