Former Red Sox' Keith Foulke will decline the team's offer of salary arbitration, his agent said Thursday.

Agent Dan Horwits said about 12 hours before a midnight deadline that Foulke would turn it down. The move does not automatically mean Foulke will be leaving Boston, though a return is extremely unlikely. If Foulke had accepted the offer, the Red Sox would have been obligated to a minimum of one-sixth of the salary set by an arbitrator. By offering him arbitration, they earned the right to draft choice compensation if he signs with another team as a free agent.
