Barry Axelrod, agent for Rich Aurilia, said he wants to still be a regular player, which he could be with the Yankees if they see him as filling their need for a right-handed-hitting first baseman.
"We've had conversations," Axelrod said of the Yankees, "and I would characterize it as sort of open-ended at this point."
Aurilia grew up in Brooklyn as a fan of the Yankees.
