The Yankees have reached out to Gil Meche, who was 11-8 with a 4.48 ERA and made $3.7 million last season with Seattle.

New York sees him as a 4th/5th starter, so will not get into a huge bidding war for his services with clubs that seek him as a #2 or #3.
