The Nationals on Tuesday named former New York Mets third base coach Manny Acta as their manager.

It will be the first major-league managing job for Acta, 37, who also served as third base coach for the Nationals, when they were known as the Montreal Expos, from 2002-04.

Acta agreed to a two-year contract with two club options. Financial terms were not disclosed.
