The New York Yankees have traded catcher Francisco Cervelli to the Pittsburgh Pirates for left-hander Justin Wilson.

Cervelli, 28, had played in parts of seven big-league seasons with the Yankees. A series of injuries cost him significant time recently and he had played in just 69 games over the past three seasons.

Wilson, 27, was 3-4 with a 4.20 ERA in 70 appearances for the Pirates this past season but struck out 61 batters in 60 innings.
