The Miami Marlins are not trading Giancarlo Stanton and details of a possible contract extension are emerging.

The Marlins so badly want to sign Stanton long-term that they are willing to hand out the first no-trade clause under the ownership of Jeffrey Loria.

"We want the player to be a Marlin," Mike Hill said. "It's been an organizational policy, but you are talking about a star talent. You look at the marketplace and what other stars have gotten. It will be a topic of discussion."
