Salvador Perez is considered by many to be the best-smelling catcher in baseball.

Earlier this season Perez admitted to wearing perfume to get on the good side of umpires.

Ned Yost was asked Thursday about Perez and infielder Alcides Escobar wearing perfume during games.

"I think Esky started it first, and then Salvy did," Yost said. "I know they're sweet smelling on the bench, that's for sure."

The manager admitted that this is one of the more usual World Series storylines.

"Yeah, that's one of the more unusual ones," Yost said. "But it's been effective, so it works for them."
