The latest Cuban outfielder to draw interest from Major League baseball is Yasmany Tomas.

Tomas has been linked to the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers.

People involved in the process believe Philadelphia leads the race to sign Tomas.

"He makes a lot of sense for Philadelphia," said one rival executive, noting that that the Phillies have money, a thin farm system, and a desire to reverse their fortunes as quickly as possible.
