The Philadelphia Phillies had a franchise-record $178 million payroll last season, but several players are now off the books and the club will have about $20 million in payroll space.

Kyle Kendrick, Mike Adams, Wil Nieves, Roberto Hernandez and Grady Sizemore are no longer under contract with the Phillies. The team is also waiting to see if A.J. Burnett will exercise his $12.75 million option for 2015.

The Philles currently have $133 million tied up in nine players -- Ryan Howard, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Chase Utley, Jonathan Papelbon, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Ruiz, Marlon Byrd and Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez.
