Jake Peavy nearly reduced Travis Ishikawa's walk-off home run into a double by blocking him from touching home plate after Ishikawa ended the NLCS in the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 5 on Thursday night.

After Ishikawa connected against Michael Wacha, sending a three-run homer into the right-field seats at AT&T Park, the San Francisco Giants spilled onto the field, with most of them setting up around home plate.

Some of the Giants ran to greet Ishikawa between second and third on his way home, including Peavy.

Peavy went to hug Ishikawa but the outfielder shouted at Peavy, who mistakenly thought the ball hadn't gone over the fence.

"Move! I hit it out!" Ishikawa screamed.

Peavy was overcome with happiness and also has terrible vision. In addtion, just hours before the game Peavy needed emergency dental surgery after he chipped his teeth.

It is against the rules for coaches or teammates to help a player around the bases.
