Brandon Crawford became the first shortstop in Major League history to hit a grand slam in the playoffs on Wednesday night.

Crawford broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning of the National League Wild Card game between the San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates.

"You know, it's obviously cool to do something like that," Crawford said, "but you can't hit a grand slam without the guys in front of you getting on base. So it's kind of a team thing in that sense and I'm just glad it helped us get a win. That's what matters, in the end."

The Giants went on to win 8-0 as Madison Bumgarner shutdown the Pittsburgh offense.
