With the crowd at Fenway Park chanting his name, Derek Jeter ended his 20-year career with an RBI infield single in the third inning Sunday, according to an ESPN.com report.

Jeter left the field to a standing ovation from both Red Sox and Yankees players, who joined the fans, the majority of whom had Yankees pinstripes on.

The RBI single on a chopper to third was the 40-year-old Jeter's 3,465th hit, which is the sixth-most in baseball history. He finished his career with a batting average of .310.
