The Philadelphia Phillies are likely to promote Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez when rosters expand on Monday.
Philadelphia signed the Cuban defector to a three-year, $12 million contract a year ago.
Gonzalez had shoulder issues throughout the offseason and into the spring, but started to hit his stride in July.
"Hopefully we'll have a chance to look at him in September," Ryne Sandberg said.
