The Baltimore Orioles are moving Ubaldo Jimenez to the bullpen as the postseason approaches.

The Orioles needed to clear a spot in the starting rotation with Miguel Gonzalez nearing his return.

Gonzalez was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Aug. 9 to make room for Jimenez after his return from the disabled list, but now Gonzalez will replace Jimenez.

Jimenez has struggled in his first year with the Orioles after signing a four-year, $50 million contract before the season.

The 30-year-old has a 4.83 ERA and the most walks in the American League (66).
